Im using cow creatures for practice when i near the end of a pic i cant seem do bring everthing together (seperation, hard lines,& so on) if yall can help or have ideas that would be great thanx

Cool, I really like your take on the topic. Wish I had thought of it :). Anyways, as for crits, your creature seems rather flat. When you start off a creature, work the form first, then the value, then color. I also suggest brushing up on your human anatomy. Although creature's aren't built the same way, their muscles preform much of the same functions in the same way. Also, since this is an insect-like creature, you should go study some preying mantis', roaches, ants , etc. to get a good grasp on their "anatomy" as well. Remember, form first!

Also, there is no defining horizon line in the enviroment, even though it has dunes, there's still gonna be a horizon

I'd get rid of that really bright blue sky, it really draws your eyes away from the creature, try selecting your colour palette a little better, try using a greater variety of contrast and tones. Also try using a finer brush to bring out some of the smaller details perhaps.

If your working using a mouse rather than a Wacom it can be really tricky unless you have a steady hand, so if you have a scanner, try sketching out the piece first and then loosely using paler colours (like watercolours) over the top of the drawing to bring out some colours. I think you may be using all of your colours at 100% strengh right now which is why the colours appear so harsh.
