Teen Challenge #32: Alien Mount and Rider.

G'day dudes, looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.

The Rules:
Anyone ages 13-19 may submit an entry at any time before the deadline. Please host your image on a remote image-hosting site instead of uploading it to the CA server. This makes it much easier to transfer it to the poll thread.

The Topic:
Alien Mount and Rider.
Two designs this time, try to make them belong to the same design language, so if the mount its light and nimble the rider would be light not a fat guy riding a tiny chiwawa.
Also think about the position of the rider, could be sitting, standing, horse and chariot style... lots of possibilities. You can also make them seperate but it's nice to see how a design works.

Remember the rider doesn't have to be humanoid. Be creative.

Please add a small description or storyline. We don't want a five page essay but make it nice, brief, and to the point. Especially if there is something in your design which needs explaining.

Add a border around your image with your name and the topic, like they do with the other of the week challenges.

The Deadline:
Friday, August 10th at midnight PST
Two weeks. Plenty of time. Even if its a sketch its good to show your ideas.

If you have photoshop go edit>canvas size and make the width about .5-1" bigger as well as the length. This will make the canvas bigger withought increasing the size of teh image. then fill in the empty space with black.At least, thats how I do it...

Hey, nice stuff guys, I'm liking every single one of these entries donut yours is nice but the muscle structure in the lower legs looks a little odd to me, wolfbane yours looks great and I love the speach bubble with the white background but it would be cool to see one anyway. Savant the idea looks really cool but the colours don't really seem to gel together all that well (just my personal taste). Luxun yours looks really cool and i like the idea but the backgrounds a little bland, if it's meant to be sand then you could show the creature making a slight indent into it maybe? Mehz nice looking idea but your alien doesn't really have anything like teh menace the films one does, maybe angling the head down a little more would help. Anyway apologies for failing to complete on the last 2 challenges (lots of work then a holiday), I won't say that I'm in on this but if i manage to get anything done i'll post it.

Nun-Arthiel Scout:

The Nun-Arthiel have mastered the science of bio-technology, the riders attach themselfs to the maggot like creature not with a saddle, but by inserting their legs in two custom fit orphises. They control the creature through a nerve cord that goes from the Nun-Arthiel to the brain of the mount. These scouts are well suited to cover the rough mountenous terrain of their homeplanet.

I went with quite a conventional fourlegged land mount, but it's just for fun eh. The pegs sticking out from part of the harness I thought could be used both to climb up onto the mount and also as a range of footholds so the rider can be in a wide variety of poses depending on the situation.
I liked the idea of a rider with one pair of arms to hold the reins and an extra pair for other tasks. Shooting, eating, looking through binoculars etc. so I went with a little four armed fella.

I'm thinking that they are part of a force occupying earth so they dont look quite at home or camoflagued in the environment but still are having no problem keeping us fleshy humans in our place.

Just a sketch, I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish in time. Basically, the rider is a mutant breed created from the mount. The mount, called a "Leex," is now used by its cousin breed for transportation since they can barely get around on their own.

Dude that first one is focking sweet! Great colors and rendering, especially with faces. The creatures legs seem a bit awkward though.

Alright, here's my final. I call it "Husk" and there's a back story:

Nearing death, King Husquamente of Mercury demanded that his priest make him a golden god so he could live for eternity and be worshiped by many. Appalled at his request, the priests called on assistance from the gods. They wished to bind his soul to a gold skeleton with a melded mouth so that he could never speak such hubris again. The gods agreed and banished Husq to the desert, where he now eeks out a living by absorbing the energy of the dying. He travels the desert on the undead husk of a basilisk He is silenced forever, a god to no one.
