they're all decent entries (cept for mine :nohope:) but kevzip I feel had the best concept/execution, with chaichan an extremely close second. Ill do more in depth crits when I get the time.

Chai chan, that's awesome! To be honest I don't like the use of pure whites and blacks in a painting but I think the the figure is very beautiful so you get my vote, Prophet and Kevizip mad me laugh my ass off, so awesome guys.

Is Chaichan really under 20? I'd vote but I'm not sure who her(his?) character is.

Medieve: Chaichan said it's a redesign of "Rylai crestfall-crystal maiden from DOTA-Allstars". I've googled it and it seems to be a hero in warcraft.

Anyway I'm Voting for him.

As i said, i like prophet and evil_sloth ones too.

I think CupofJoe's Sandman was executed really well. The style and dynamics of it are excellent!

This was a tough one, lot's of great stuff everyone!
Chaichan's was fantastically done, but I had to vote for kevzip because It was the most effective given the topic.

Wow.. Just so many great entries

I went for Kevzip on this one with Cup of Joe very close in second place.
I considered chaichan also, but his entry looks more illustrative than character design, since we only get to see the upper body. I really liked the feel on Cup of Joe's piece, but I went vor Kevzip in the end because it looked more thought out and like there was more time put into it...

Really great stuff!

cup of joe got my vote, redesigned to the extend that its given a new life, almost see it appearing in latest anime. kevzip was the other one that i was struggling to cast my vote, his entry was really "twisted" and doesnt seem out of place for doing such drastic make over for such a popular character, in the end i opted for cup of joe as i felt his technique, thought process on what to change (and what not to change) and include from research into the character, but given the choice i would have voted for both.

prophet:- captured the essence of original character and added a twist that seem almost logical what the original designer would hav progress!
TLL:- am assuming darthvader in a medieval knight twist. the helmet needed a bit more adaptation, cos the "original" was fashion from a samurai helmet.
Myrridin:- humour! but the empire strike back, darthvader-luke skywalker, father-son scene might provide better drama??
Mehz:- another good one- on the twist as well as character choice, looks unfinished.
Evil-sloth:- idea is great but i think the design of "true form" is too rigid.
Crimson89:- thou dont know the original character, but the description helps
clarify the story. the bird store idea begging for a john woo after fight, exhausted looking, sit in a corner with dead avian and feathers still floating, lit up fig look!
Crush:- another humorous entry!! nice character choice and a great story! nothing to comment except improving on your execution!
light:- the impact of the image is strong enough that a background story is not needed, but again improve on the execution.
ConstantRequiem:- great idea, please take the twist further!! a pizza boy that "cuts" thru traffic or Fedex
stampedie:- laugh my socks off!! the expression is dead on. do something about the outfit, gansta dont wear spandex
Chaichan:- the twist didnt not came thru strong enough, ( this could be due to my ignorance about the origin lcharacter :(()
Sung-jae Kim:- dante (devil may cry) and bruce lee crossover? dante's weapon was not apparent!

Really like the entries by Chaichan and Kevzip. But Kevzips adaption is the best for me. These challenges have stepped up a gear or two!
