300dpi is a decent resolution for print, so at A3 that'd be 3508x4961 pixels.
If your computer struggles with that drop it down to, say, 200dpi which would work out at 2339x3307 pixels.
I wouldn't go less than that at A3 size really.

First of all thank you very much for the fast reply. I have been setting it to 300, however my computer find it hard to handling it. I was thinking would it make any different, if I work on the image at 200 then when finish, flatten (remove all the layers) the image and then increase it back to 300?
Thank you again in advance

Have a read at these threads about pixels/dpi/print res, see if they help any.

Basically, worry about pixel dimensions as that's what will determine the quality of any eventual print.
