This past week I decided to paint a larger painting (for me at least) -16" x 20". I've painted many of these types of still life's but never one this size. I must admit it is more enjoyable to paint larger than smaller. here is a link to a larger view of the

you simply HAVE TO post larger. this just wont do. the link shows a pic the same size as the one you posted.
from what I can see of'ov the thumbnail you posted, it looks real good. I'd really like be able to enjoy your work better, it deserves it.

Agreed, there's no reason not to attach the larger version here.

That is one well-put-together composition! What a fun still-life. What medium is it?

The medium is oil on canvas

Wow good job with that, nice skills with the crome sections, looks great. Have you got anymore you can post up? :)

Agreed, except for this:
Vic, are you familiar with Ben Shamback's (http://www.benjaminshamback.com/) work? if not, check it out. He's got a similar hard edged, formalistic aesthetic.

Hahahahahahahaha. Seedling you crack me up.
I think we can let this little inconsistency in design slip..... :P

Perspective is wrong, IMO. Ketchup bottle is especially distorted, I think... effects like this you can observe when you are relatively close to very tall vertical cylinder-like objects, like a column for example... When your eyes are on the same level with a middle of the column for example... circumferences on the eye level will be the narrowest ovals or just a straight line and everything below will be growing down ovals. Ovals above our eyes will be growing up like in your still life.
But objects in your still life are small comparing to a viewer. I can't imagine situation when we are able to see bottom of ketchup bottle curved down like this and top curved up and our eyes leveled with the middle of the bottle. Small comparing to viewer's size cylinders don't behave like this in space... perspective doesn't grow that fast on small distances. Right now the bottle looks like it's bended, distorted...curved backwards, perspective of the lower part of all three objects is not consistent with a perspective of the uppers parts and not consistent with perspective of the table.
If my comment is hard to understand I can draw my reasoning on paper for you.
Colors are nice though and imitation of textures .
