These look great man. I can already imagine these tools being used in a real environment. Can you tell us more about the project?

sure.... whynot. Maybe you guys can help in the ideation process. So here goes.

These objects and the sandwhale creature i posted a little while back both belong to this world that a couple buddies from school and myself are designing. Our ultimate goal is to make an illustrated novel of events that happen in this world.

We're tackling this project one small piece at a time. These tools and the sandwhale are both from the same climate\region. It's a desert setting and the people who live there are nomadic hunters. following and hunting the sandwhales like the plains indians followed and hunted buffalo. In this region there are 3 main tribe which constantly make war upon each other. Think warring states period in china and you'll get the picture. The inhabitants are human in nature but to a more evolved sense to suit its environment. They have developed characteristics like slit like nostrils with thicker hair which can open and close like a camel. A more pronounced brow ridge to act as a visor against the sun. And broader paddle like feet to navigate the sandy landscape easier.

They do not have much technological knowledge due to the fact that they're always too concerned with surviving in the harse environment. Because in order for a civilization to grow intellectually it must have a sufficient surplus of resources to warrant people to sit around and think of "cool stuff." They are extremely efficient and use every available resource. The fibers of their clothing and rope are senews from animal muscle and tendons. Many objects such as knives and spoons are carved out of bone. They do have some metal working knowledge, but iron is in short supply and they use it on more important objects and tools. One tool im particularly fond of is the sickle looking thing. It is used to gut the sandwhales. And it has a boot strap on the bottom of the tool so that they can impale the creature and hop on the strap and slide down the side of the huge beast to effectively fillet it.

Anyways thats about it for one region of the world, we have 5-6 other nations in the works. So pretty much we're in for the long haul. Because before we get to the illustration part we must complete all the designs. And have good reasons behind the designs.
