Looks like you are doing fine, Just keep cranking out designs.

I only use the different grey scale markers and dont have any problems and enjoy using them. I never have played with the color markers though...

Pimp images dude. Your inking looks tight, except for maybe the window on the last one. But thats pretty minor. I wish I could use markers like this, just haven't taken the time to practice yet. Great stuff.

chad yeah i need to do atleast 3 of these a week...

and mebby in like 2 years i may have something.. its discipline just to sit down away from the computer....... i also need a computer desk cause my monitors on my drafting table...

Chromo you flatter me.. however honestly and objectivly the inking in these is not 1-10 th of my skillz i have been inking for about 12 years with brush quill points and tech pens ...

yeah i used a crappy bubbling tech pen i need to clean it out and i also need to get away from the white ball point ink pen im using -

I apriciate the comments guys...

i just got a ton of books about archtecture and water colors
man these people are amazing...

ALSO shout outs to all the fellow artists here alot of great work!

Well dont get pressured into thinking you have to be faster, Three a week sounds like a good goal. sometimes i can do 1-3 in a day sometimes one in a couple of days...Just go at your own speed the worst thing that can be done is to do nothing.

Its definitely tough to get work done especially when there is a site like this around. There's so much to learn here and so much work to look at and get inspired by, but filling at least a few pages in the sketch book per day shouldn't be too hard to do.

---Chad...when do you plan on adding more sketches to your site? I'm a sketch junky and I really love looking at yours.

Chromo: thanks I appreciate hearing that. I am about to go under some heavy deadlines so I will try and add some more soon.

Shyst: I dig that girl. I dont know if it was on purpose but if you look at her left foot it looks like a music note. If she kicks em where it counts they sing...

The brown paper is a 7x10 spiral bound recycled sketch book made by "Cashet". I bought it believe it or not at Barnes & Noble for $12.00. I know you can find their other brown hardbound books at art stores but for some reason the art supply stores here dont carry the spiral bound books. Also you should check out the grey paper books as well, those are fun, thats what I did this on>>>TIKI TIKI TIKI TIKI (http://www.chadtownsend.com/Gallery/2D/Tiki01.jpg)

I am using prisma markers, I love using these, they are a lot of fun once you get the hang of em. I use all the different greys at 10,30,50,70,90% you save money and you dont really need the others cause you can "blend" them thats why they are so fun.

Not hearing anything for doing spec? you should at least try to call them back. Sometimes directors are too busy and forget to reply, and it may be that you arent what they were looking for on thier project. But dont let that upset you. if you want to succeed as an artist you have to keep putting in the time and effort even after you are established. I am always having to run circles and feel like giving up. the best advice is DON'T.

IIORI:

You must have a passion for anything... and by coming to these boards it seems you do- great-
research- research draw ect.. and more research outside of school.......

i learned what i learned and have just been introduced to concept art about 5 months now school really wasnot the motivation for getting into or *rather* wanting to get into concept stuff...
I was approached by a teacher who knew some people making a movie i showed my stuff they were interested i had lunch did about 30 pencil sketches and then met the writer i called back about two months ago and they said they were working on getting a good deal for every-one and i never heard from them agin-- i had no prior experience and even the let down won't stop me...

Unless ones extremely gifted and has alot of time IIori expect to be inschool atleast for a BS degree...

stay competitive look at your peers work make friends ...improve

i hope to take fengs class here in LA and then on to BS degree in 3D animation and modeling...

one last word _laugh_ i must sound like a dad-

expect rejection critisism and learn !
