I've been drawing all my life, no color though. And im looking to start coloring, rendering, touching up my pictures with photoshop. I never realised how much better a pictutre looks from the stages of paper sketch to when its colored etc in photoshop. I want to buy a tablet because the mouse isn't very good.

So all in all, can anyone recommend me a tablet,i need a good one as im attending art school in 1 year. I'd like to keep it under 1000$. But i could go higher if needed. Thanks :)

edit: i will be posting some of my art in a few days

Holy crap, 1000? Are there even any tablets so expensive? I got my 9X12 inch (which is aparently pretty large) wacom from ebay for $400. Brand new it would probably be under $600, with software and such to boot.

Buy a medium size Wacom Intuos 3 (http://www.wacom.com/intuos/6x8.cfm).

Save the rest for b00ze. :P

what size should i get? Is smaller better or is bigger better? Or is there any difference at all. I want to be able to do fine detail if needed.

Any size would work, all you have to do is zoom in. For me, I've been working on my 9X12 for so long I couldn't imagine going smaller, but aparently the 6X8 is (according to intuos) the most popular size.
