So, I've just realized all the sketchpads i've been buying are filled with Cartridge Paper, and I know there's lots more like erhh, Layout Paper, Animation Paper etc. I was wondering what's the best kinda paper for drawing with Col-erases (Prismacolour blue/lightblue/red)

i love the sennier sketch books
but I mostly make my own cause Im picky about the paper

but what paper you use will depend on what medium you are putting on it
and the quality of the paper should reflect the amount of time and effort you are putting in to the piece
for example cartrige paper is fine for rapid throwaway practice sketches
but if you are gonna use ink and speand some time on it youl want something a little more substantial

I use a mechanical pencil .5 on my paper, which is from my local hobby store. The paper is by u:create; it's for crayon, pencil, ink and pastel but for some reason everytime I erase something it's just smears. I not picky when it comes to price if I know my work is suited better for different paper.

Any suggestions?

~realized Taiylz post really wasn't answered.~ :D

Try going to your local art store and asking to see samples of the kinds of paper they carry. A good art store will have drawers full of large sheets of types of paper that you’ll never see in a sketchbook. The drawers are likely in the back, so that people don’t rifle through the paper and ruin it with fingerprints.

(Suddenly I miss RISD’s art store, where a person could walk in and buy a four-foot-by-six-foot sheet of Stonehenge paper.)
