This week the aim is:

Produce 50 gestures and two drapery studies by Sunday the 22nd of July.Register to join the troops below!

The gestures can be of anything, old men, feet, hands, paws, claws, robots, animals, three headed monkeys and so forth.

The first drapery study will be of a cloth or clothing item of your choice, draped loosely over the back of a chair. See page one of Fred Flickstone's tutorial if you feel lost. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14739

The second drapery study is to draw an item of clothing being worn or maybe a cloth draped over the human form.

Limit each of the drapery studies to about an hour. The aim is to learn how the folds fall.

Again, please put all your pics in the one post for ease of viewing. There is a little more time this week since I was late posting the topic. ;)

(This exercise is separate from last weeks'.)

Whoo! Numbah one! Now to conquer those drapery studies...

Consider them conquered. Sort of. My drapery work definitely needs some studying, so I'm glad for these exercises. The first one is from life, the second from a photo by Stephen Jacobson, out of a book called The Costume-Maker's Art.

And here are the gestures, all done in 1-2 mins. The first batch are from life.

These are after Donald Carrick, from the picture book Dr. Change.

After Adam Rex, from Frankenstein Makes A Sandwich.

And finally, gestures after three artists: Mucha, Brom, and Olga Dugina and Andrej Dugin.

Cool...these are really becoming a great exercise for me. No digital stuff this time though, gotta get my pens out. Keep up the good work everyone!

Okay, first group of more gestures. First time using pose maniac...30 seconds...started off awfully rough but I think I got the hang of it.

Drapery study 1...think I overworked this one.

woopsiedaisy :P missed last weeks
I'll do this weeks assignment but won't be able to post it. This because I'm staying at my boyfriends place and have a summerjob there, and we don't have a decent scanner here. So expect the images here in a week or three :P if anyone comes around to check anyways.

Adi. Hey, no problem man :)
your line placement in your figures are drool worthy. Keep up the great work! Out of curiosity what website are you going to for the fashion studies? Just wondering if there's any good sites in particular for those.

BEAR JR Great charcoal work again! Nice sketchy lines as well in the gestures.

Saera Nice Horses! It's cool to see a change up in the studies. Good feet also, I need to work on those myself.

tmyohlaing Looking good with those gestures. Your getting there with your drapery studies also. The B&W is pretty good. Maybe try to smooth your edges next time more.

Well, maybe see you all next round. Thanks Cwn Annwn for keeping this running.

Sweet! I made it lol. Here is my stuff guys, I think next week (if this is going on) I will include other things besides just posed nudes in my gestures, things like hands and such.
