Urgent theft/bandwidth/copyright assault

Found this today. Apparently they've been leeching off my friend's server, and making light of the theft. There's also been some harsh defamation of the character which is copyrighted to me. The gif animation, as we know, was made by Roel, with my permission.

I've contacted my host and I'm considering taking legal action, due to the use of the character and gif as advertising, plus the cost to my provider.

I registered at their forums to start a thread about it there, but I have to wait for verification from one of the mods before being allowed to post. If you're going to register, you can't have a free e-mail provider such as yahoo or hotmail..just a heads up. Oh, and the page shakes violently for some reason.


No one does this and gets away with it.

By the way, some members of that forum just decided to leech the entire content of my webspace, so i cleared it all. The images are probably red X's now, but the character (the one in my avatar) is still on my website.

brass, you should definitely look carefully. as it seems, this bug is having a huge popularity as it is very effective. people, including myself, can't stop laughing at it. it was obvious that there was going to have so theft. for the design and animation, it must absolutely be protected.

hope they'll get scared after their wrong moves.

Well, I'm sure it'll all blow over soon. I overreacted right away, but I'm still miffed. Mostly it was the combination of bandwidth theft/no credit that got to me. They didn't even e-mail me to ask permission. Let's just hope it dies down eventually.

i wonder if it is actually a good idea to find out...been lookin around, and so far, it is just pointless conversation.
One of em thingies where you can sit and talk to people but never really get anything out of it...and as Sparth said, these people seem to "worship the munchie" waaaay too much...shouldn we try to stop it? dunno, but the prospects of some new unexpected religion based in an animation scares me :scared:

I'll second that. I read through a few pages that brasshorsekiller linked to..........I can't be sure, but I think it brought my IQ down a dozen or so points. I was afraid if a scrolled through a few more threads that I might have become legally retarded. That forum is like the Pied Piper of stupidity.
