Batman Dead End: An amazingly well executed batman movie including the joker (along with some other surprise guests), in only 8 minutes.
Personally I thought (and I'm not alone) that this is the best Batman movie ever made. Its true to the book, the costume lets Bats move like he should and the Joker really looks like the Joker. Finally...Somebody has nailed it! This is Batman.
Did you like it or not? If you haven't seen it yet, heres the link. If your a Bat-fan, you won't be disappointed

It won't play on my PC.
If anyone can tell me why...It would be helpfull.
I've got XP, WMP9, latest DivX Codec etcetera. WMP9 says it has an error downloading codec.

Yeah, I remember seeing this a few years back or something. And I have the same reaction now: The "special guests" are a needless gimic that I find tiresome, and it would be much more decent if joker could act. The editing and directing need some serious work. Batman comes off as being just a stupid muscle-head rather than the greatest detective and ninja to ever live. And lastly, but most important for me, is that it doesn't take Batman's story anywhere. All it is, is a bunch of eye-candy. While I have my issues with Batman Begins, at least it starts somewhere, and ends somewhere significant... this one just cuts into the middle of something, and doesn't resolve any of it, and time constraints are no excuse. Pixar proves that time and time again with their animated shorts. So yeah, I'm going to have to disagree... the storytelling is unoriginal and unintersting, which puts it very far down on my list of Batman favorites. Of course... to each their own.

I can see where your coming from, but recap when this movie was made: before batman begins, after (dare I mention it) Batman and Robin. This movie revitalized the face of Batman, from a campy George Clooney-ish shadow to a Dark, mean, gritty Batman we are more used to. Sure the acting wasn't quite there, but at the time it gave us a glimmer of what Batman could be with an all-star cast and a big budget. Also it gave the Batman fan butterflies see that Earth's line of defense against aliens and predators wears tights and has pointy ears. I thought it had alot going for it, but maybe I'm still in the moment of a fresh look at Bat's. It may have been alot of eye candy, but man it was tasty -

This one feels a bit like an awkward bridge between two entirely different stories, but yeah it's a lot better than most of batman and . Batman Begins remains king - told a good story and made way for a total revitalization of the series. Looking forward to the next one, "Dark Knight" I think...
not a bad little film really - leaves a lot to the imagination and that's the way to go on a budget!

It certainly was better than anything post-Tim-Burton, no doubt about that. I just felt that adding the aliens and perdators was such a reach, instead of being inspired. I do, however, like the costume design. I thought that was pretty cool, forgot to mention it. But yeah, overall I wasn't very impressed, and I saw it well before I saw Batman Begins. But my issues stem from an overall problem with the entertainment industry in the U.S., and where it's been heading for the last several years. With the exception of some indi flics, and a handful of big budget ones, everyone seems to think storytelling is subordinate to special effects, eye candy, and aesthetic design. Batman Deadend is certainly guilty of that. I think Sandy Collora wanted to do a Batman flic, had access to the Alien and Predator costumes, and thought, "Aw! Wouldn't that be sweeet!... if I put the two together?!" without thinking about whether that makes sense, and makes a good story. I just feel that the U.S. is in such dire need of good storytelling, because we're all getting stupider here, generation by generation because kids are reading less and less. They turn to movies and television to get their stories. How many people will never read Lord of the Rings now, because they can just watch the films? Granted, I love those movies, but still... it's sad. So I feel it's the entertainment industry's responsibility to up their intelligence level a LOT, and as illustrators, designers and visual storytellers, we're in the position to help that change... that's why I'm being so hard on Mr. Collora's little movie.

Phuzion that's a real good point. Too often storytelling is completely neglected (which is where I thought Batman Begin came through a bit better) and special effects and flashy stunts are prioritized. This was the case with Pirates 2 as well, it seems. And yes I absolutely agree, it's a very sad attitude towards film making.

when i first saw this i thought it had to be a fairly high-end send-up of the whole Batman-on-film history, so intentionally derivative and banal as to be obviously a lampoon. worth a few chuckles at least.
then i read a little of its backstory. these guys were serious? c'mon....

Wow! That old thing is still making its way around the interweb? I like to give fan films credit where credit is due, I guess. I think they did a fine job. Lets not forget that there was a Batman vs Predator/alien comic. It's not they came up with it out of no where.

I first saw this playing on a video screen at a Fry's and thought WOW nice way for someone who is trying to get into making movies or just wanting to be The Batman and show off.
It was dark it was wet and it did have hi's and low's but it was a Fan Short and most likely some trying to give some one at a studio a resume.
The funny thing is I know some of the guys in the Predator make up and one of the Aliens suites and I never knew they had made the film till after it aired at ComicCon and it went over very big too.
this Fan's way of drawing a concept of a Story they would like to see done or Do.. the makeup and SFX are low end but good and made on a low budget.
there are tons of Fan movies and short out there for everything from Batman to Star Wars and Star Trek(check out http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/800/ ) this is one group that has change how fan films are being made.
some of the Star wars one are getting even better than what ELM is doing and all due to people making these small films and giving other better ideas.
Its all fun stuff and the best thing is its free and for us fans as well.

I would love for them to have made something out of this. Great pick for the actor to play batman. Such a pitty this is all there is...

Hmm...it's amazing that the low budget batsuit in that film looks better than all the movie ones they made. The guy that played Batman was good too, but how would he be as Bruce Wayne? Anyways, it may be old, but I never saw it before. Thanks!

Agree with Phuzion. It has some nice moments but on the whole it is really weak - mainly because I judge films on their story. Some nice screengrab visuals but the editing, acting, story and consistensy where way off.
In general I don't like fan-films; because instead of making a fanfilm because they have an interesting story to tell, people usually do it because they want to rehash moments from the original. So from the perspective of this film trying to capture the feel of the comics, it's probably quite successful, but as a film it's a bit of a dog's breakfast.

Story??? its an 8 minute short on Batman, how much story can you expect? And no I'm not tryin to say that its never been or cant be done because yes, I have seen movies shorts, shorter than this one, with good story and character development, but this was pretty sweet to watch, even if it was a second time 3 years later, liked it the first time I saw it, and still do.
And yes there is a Batman vs Predator thing, as well as Batman Vs Spawn, I pray everyday to any God that may exist that someone do a decent job in turnin that Batman vs Spawn into a movie...

Personally, I think the best Joker ever pulled off was from:
Grayson - http://theforce.net/fanfilms/nonsw/grayson/
He's got the perfect laugh, and that would be a hell of a film!
