time to sell

Finished last week, combination of illustrator and good old photoshop. It's my first piece done in this style, so a lot of time was spent figuring out new ways to do things.

I'd love to hear any and all comments, as I'm comfortable with the process now and would like to work primarily on composition.

this just screams "draw-over" and doesnt mesh at all that well.. im real sorry mate, i know it takes a lot of balls to post in the FF section, and nobody should be castrated for trying, but all im seeing is a photo-montage thats been traced over varying levels of posterization. the PS brushes that arent clean and sharp dont blend with the vectorized shapes, and the detail and form throughout the piece are inconsistant as a result. again, sorry to be harsh, im just calling it the way i see it is all.. please dont let this discourage you from posting more, just maybe give you some food for thought?

I like my comments like I like my women, dirty and honest. Thanks stoph, I have lurked here long enough to know how well paint-overs are received, could you give me your opinion on how I can improve my next piece so it doesn't suffer from the same obvious faux pas?

Also, I agree the brushes that aren't sharp don't blend well. I have another question about that actually, what do you guys think about using the predefined PS brushes? Should I be aiming to do more work with custom brushes?
