This is nice. I would like to know the story behind it.

What kind of medium did you use?

Thanks for your response. Its painted in acrylics. Actual size is 13"wide x 12" high. It'll print at 12 wide x 11 so its actually about a page and a half when printed. All I can say about the story is that its undeniably surreal, creepy, and a bit gory. Though told in such a mild, almost montone style that it adds to a certain sense of calm insanity that is very appropriate for the story.

Interesting piece, I particularly like the angle and colors of the guy behind bars.

My only thought is that the color on the furry guy kind of bleeds into the tree and
creates a bit of an uncomfortable balance in the composition. Could have rendered
the tree a bit more yellow or cooler color?

Not a big deal though.

I sent a piece out last week, so I'm guessing we will probably be in the same issue,
looks like i'll be in good company.

Hell yeah! I'll keep an eye out for your piece in the next couple issues Mike. Oddly enough, a good friend of mine also just finished a piece for them, his name is Eric Fortune...his piece is downright amazing...you may well be in the same issue with him, I guess we'll have to keep checking to see. Thanks for the feedback.
