Its been a long while since I've posted, but thought I'd show a new piece for Realms of Fantasy magazine I just finished. Comes out soon. It'll be a page and a half spread (thats why its a bit odd proportioned for a magazine piece. Anyhow...feel free to check it outwww.altpick.com/abcillustrated (http://www.altpick.com/abcillustrated)

Andy, I really like the convict section of your montage, but the beast section troubles me. I think the spatial distance between snout and the forehead looks too compressed, making him seem flat. Since you mentioned it's for a 1 and 1/4 page spread, where is the page break going to hit? At the transition from jail to night sky? I'm trying to imagine what that will do to the were-bear beast...will you lose detail or will the roll of pages out of the magazine's spine enhance his dimensionality?
I took a look at the rest of the images on your page, the black and white work was great and "Late Bloomer" was excellent! nifty, nifty.
I hope you post here more often, I'd like to see more.

Good observations, thanks for checking out the piece and for your comments. If I planned right, the page break shouldn't disrupt the jail bar/ night sky transition too much. As for the beast, I see your point, and agree that the snout certainly could use some outward dimensionality. The page will in fact divide across his face at some point, so I am taking some rick towards readability once printed, but I'm hoping for the best.
Thanks again
