Segante aka "Bolt"

Segante is a 28 year old italian. Born in america and fell into the mob at an early age of 17. He was the father of a bartender in downtown New York; Some of the mob would go there to get some jars. Segante honored and respected these men. The father disapproved of the boy hanging around the men, and give him with the choice of either staying away from them or not being his son. The boy joinned the mob, but the threat was false from the father and their relationship stayed basicly the same until in a mob war the father was murdered.
Segante found out who the murderer was. It was a crooked polication/mob general, nicknamed "The Cue". He found out that the guards of "The Cue" when searching a man would would fire directly at the heart of the man and ask questions later if they had found a weapon. Segante arranged a face to face meeting with "The Cue". He got a friend to attach a metal plate over hs arm and shoulder with a wrist gunslider for faster firing reflexs. He entered the meeting and the guards found the gun and fired at his chest 3 times, but the metal protected him completely. He then shot both guards hastely in the face. He shot "the cue" 6 times, yet he escaped barely with his life. Segante countinues to wear the armor, as it has saved his life 3 times.
Segante is a very feared man, and has earned his respect by fear.

Embarassing fullscale of him: http://www.internalzine.com/davi/mob-03x4.jpg
It's embarassing because i did the painting at that scale, and i can't seem to do any details like that, i'm doing a piece twice the size of that then shrinking it later for a better detailed piece, it's working SO much better. But i had to include the picture for an visual understanding of the concept.

Dragoon

Dragoon was a typical mafia thug. He joinned at the age of 19, because he knew a friend that had joinned earlier and was "living it up". Dragoon over the years became very respectable through connections, not as much through voilance, yet secertly he is a very violant man. At the age of 24 Dragoon became a gambling tycoon and earned lots of money at an early age. With his money he became a well known gun collector. Many of his buyers come to him looking for "soaked guns", which is a term for aged gun used in murder. Soaked gun's value is of course naturally increased. Dragoon got his name from his bizarre obession with collecting Colt Dragoon revolvers. Gun collecting in the 1930's was not as practiced as it today.
Dragoon is famous for a past murder on a april fools day. Two friends played a trick on him pretending that they had murdered his brother and tied him up in the back of a car's trunk. Dragoon opened the Trunk and saw his brother tied up and looking dead. He slammed the hood down, shot them both, and then drove the car into the river while the brother was still alive. Dragoon still mourns over this experience.

I think these are rad. I love the clean, sharp quality they have, and the colors are spot-on.

In the first one, it seems like his eyes are looking in different directions. Am I nuts?

I'd love to see one of these guys with a background, like leaning on an old ganster-era car or something.

That portrait of Bolt is great. Did you work from any reference or just invent it? Either way, the concise structures you used to illustrate the features is excellent.

bolt's nostrals are lacking definition. you should touch up the valleys where the creases of his cheeks and nose meet. i like the green smeared into this jaw line, the red in the forehead, and the white lining his eyebrow. i think you should approach the flat area of his nose - just under his eye this way. nice work.
