View Full Version : Stay on my paper!

Now as some of you know I only use pencil and paper as my mediums, but my question is how do I get it to stay on my paper? If I shade a piece, which I sometimes do, it smears on the backside of the page in front of it, which can ruin some other piece I've worked on. Do you guys have any hints or tricks to deal with this or is it just the plight of using pencils?

Fixative or Hairspray. The last one is a cheap solution, but it works fine here. :)

Just make sure not to spray too much in one area- It'll permanently darken your piece and you'll have a bunch of blotches.

Spraying too close to the paper can do this too. Or spraying when it's really, really cold.
