View Full Version : Eyes nose and Mouth

Can someone suggest some material that can help eyes nose and mouth drawings. I just cant seem to get the hang of it, i have tried everything, no matter how hard i try, they just seem to turn out unusual as you can see underneath.

Your problem isn't that you are struggling with individual facial features, but that you are struggling with the underlying shape of the face and head. To remedy this, practice drawing heads from life (such as your own, using a mirror) instead of from photographs or imagination.

Here is a link to some Andrew Loomis pdf books (http://acid.noobgrinder.com/Loomis/) and get a good Artist's anatomy book. Also, a life size plastic skull is good to draw from especially if you are have structure problems.
Draw some studies from Loomis and your anatomy book, in addition to drawing from life.
Open up a sketchbook in the sketchbook forum and update often.
It looks like you have a tendency to elongate the nose. Your features seem to be okay as individual parts but together they lack structure as a head. (What Seedling said).
It will take time, but you will see results if you keep with it.:)

I assume you have a face and a mirror. You're all set.
