ashame that peeps leave some threads untouched- you have some good potential going on here nmcleod- keep drawing from life, as i find it the best way to hone your skills, drawing from other pics or photographs can sometimes leave drawings looking flat, but they work just the same. I really like the 4th pic down of the person looking to their right.

Try practicing some anatomy- ie. the kings player's legs and some perspective/foreshortening like on the 3rd pic. Otherwise i think you have a good thing going on here- keep drawing and post your stuff!

hey, thanks for replying. I will continue to draw as often as I can, i have to draw a lot more from life though, normally I just draw from photographs.

nmcleod - good start. What I try to do when drawing from photographs or life is to squint my eyes and concentrate on the darkest darks and the lightest lights, and then draw accordingly. I see you lay down darks all over your drawings with little variation in tone. Remember what is further away from you is darker in tone and what is closer is lighter, that will give you depth in your drawing and your drawings will not end up flat. Plus concentrate on the light source and squint your eyes, the darks will be the first thing you see. Good start and never give up, mileage in your artwork is key.
