Hello everyone, so my scanner broke and my first SB slipped into the abyss. Because of that I'm starting a newer SB, and assuming my scanner does not break my balls anymore I will try to post semi-regularly again.
Since then I got my first real sketchpad and I couldn't believe the difference, everything erased so cleanly and it was so much easier to draw on. I may never be able to go back to regular old printer paper. Though I might not get that choice =p
Anyway, here are a few things I've been working on. Extra credit if you can tell who the second one is without reading his knuckles.
Linkage if you still can't tell:

I've got a couple more I may post later like tomorrowish. If you're gonna crit, be harsh about it, I don't need sugar-coatings.
EDIT 8-20-07: i'm taking down the one of ozzy, i just feel like i could have done so much better. if you're wondering why i stopped posting it's because i've damaged my hand quite a bit and have to be in a cast for another three weeks. lesson learned though "glass cuts skin" who knew.

Bah, please excuse this for the moment. I'll resize these momentarily I just want to post them in case I accidently close my browser or something stupid happens.
One week later. Rofl shortly after starting this thread, I realized that despite my three month absence my old SB had not died. (thankyou people for the comments, it's a spirit booster) So I tried to contact a couple people to get this thread deleted, but seeing as how I have no idea who is an admin here and who isn't I now have two threads. So here is what I've been up to lately
1. Gonna start you off with a classic, the egg shading study.
2. I hesitate to even post this one, but it's my thread and I put the marks on the paper may as well display it somewhere.
3. Next up, my picture of Gohan. Which I screwed up royally on, even though it was done off of a Youtube video(link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY3MUrVvwZM&mode=related&search= ) . So despite being shown what to do every step of the way, I managed to dislocate his arm. I guess it goes back to "Practice, practice, practice"
4. Okay, I know some of you hate anime but I'm a fan so bear with me. I'm trying to learn to do hair and this is probably my best piece of anime to date. Which of course is my way of saying, "what can I do better?"
5. Moving away from anime slightly is a drawing of an elf. His name is xander, he lives in the woods and likes to make small wooden figures to bring to life. They dance, they play, they even do flips.
6. Taking a bit of advice from a comment, I've been doing a few human studies trying to make a human out of just basic shapes. I did a couple of them, but I think this is the best one.
7. What can I say? It's a tree.
8. I just thought this looked kind of cool. Really it's just incomplete, but I'm not going to finish it because I'm afraid I might take something away from it now.

Just stopping by to see your work - interested in seeing how much we can improve as we practice! Looking forward to more of your work!

Guess who's back? I've been watching RivenPheonix's "Drawing the human figure from your mind" I think I may have made my first "worth while" picture, it'll be the last one of the bunch. Interesting how a few calculations can bring out something that looks like a human face. I'm still not satisfied with the brow I feel I may have made the indent to deep for his eye sockets, what do you guys think?

Well, it's been a while since my last update, but I've been a busy little bee. My class turned out to be a bust I heard from four seperate people (three of them art majors) that the one art class I decided to take was the worst one they'd ever been in. But I digress here are a couple of my better pics I've done recently. I might have one more later today.
As always comments and crits are welcomed.

Well, I've just re-installed photoshop and I found a few tutorials (I'd quote my sources, but I don't remember where I found them.) More accurately the first one I'm putting up was a tutorial that I followed barbatum (sp?) However the second was just something I came up with because I was playing around with the program.
