Topic: Walking Chair

Background: Again, a fairly open topic. You can do whatever you want with it: fix it with guns, put a dog on it or make it pink and fluffy. However, a description is needed this time. The description should tell who the chair is for and why you designed it in that specific way.

Brief:

1. Design a walking chair.
2. Description of your entry is needed.

Deadline: Tuesday July 10th

Hey, was just wondering if there was going to be a vote, there was only two of us, but... heh.. :bashful: call it foolish pride, I'd still like to see if I won... (spent a while on that piece.) Thanks!

Looks like I'm the first one to put some money on the table...

Behold! A bloated tick! (Yes I know ticks have 8 legs not 6.)

I designed this as a successor to the Segway. Now you can experience the great outdoors without getting any of it on you or getting off your cozy chair.

Sorry everyone for my absence, but now I'm back with oceans of time :)

Collinsully: You are right, I was still wondering how to handle it. I think you deserve a poll, even though there is only the two of you. I'll put it up together with the voting for this round so it doesn't intervere with anything. Now go draw that chair :)

ATAnderson: Thanks :)

Now for some crits:

Lyconeus: The lines are pretty solid, but I think the coloring could use some more work. Especially the lightning is a bit undefined at the moment: the highlights are still quite dark. Choose a lightsource and really go for it is my suggestion. Also, a shadow on the floor would really help.

Act.Appalled: I like the idea of a walking toilet :) What your image needs most though I think is a little more definition of form. Try to tighten up the loose brushstrokes.

TRUZART: Like Act.Appalled, I think your chair could use a bit more definition of shape. In your case this has more to do with the lighting: I kind of miss a real lightsource. Shadows are a good way to give your image some definition.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Good to see some entries/WIPs in already. Cheers to that :)

The chair of the queen herself. This luxurious piec of furniture often gave king nightmares, because of its price, it had a brain, and often wandered around at night, singing poetry.

Looking good folks.

The Baron always loved the seasonal racing, being an ex-pilot himself he prefered to be down in the action by the track side. You could always spot him in near the finish line with his bodyguards.

For everyone still wanting to post their entry: I'll give it a little less than 24 hours (as I'm not sure when the 10th of July is over for everyone) and then I'll close this thread, so make sure you post your entry soon :)

If you've got any suggestions for the next topic, please post them in the topic suggestion thread.

Thankfully I have just had my broadband come back online after a week of no contact ('oh the agony). I thought I would have missed this but I see that I am in luck.

Here is my WIP, will finish it this afternoon (next 12hrs).

Gehender Schlachtstuhl.
Gehender Schlachtstuhl – a walking marvel of our age.
The Arch-fiend Napoleon VI once again threatens the liberty of Europe, many forces are arrayed against him in defence of their home lands. Shown here un-mounted is a Schlachtstuhl belonging to a trooper of the Prussian Twelfth-Core, the heraldic device indicates this chair belongs to Dragoon-Lieutenant Franz Heidelmann.
Take note the many dexterous limbs controlled by its steam power difference-engine actuator, this multitude means the chair had no issue crossing the broken ground of a modern battle field.
It is armed with a Rheinmetal Sturm-gattling musket and a rifled-Balcher gun, for close action the chair boasts an armature charged blitz-lance and a reserve sword-bayonet on the Blacher-gun.
