Hello all. Ecstatic. I just registered yesterday [after an hour of uploading attatchments, I realized I had to resize 'em all:upset:]. So far, from the threads and astonishing art I've cast my eyes upon over the last couple of weeks, I can only say that the images I will be uploading will most likely be of the lowest quality compared to the general quality of pics I've seen around the PHOTOGRAPHY forums. This is due to owning ONLY a small Samsung Digimax a402 DC of 4.0 MP and because I lack experience. Very much. I'm sure I will also be bombarded with alien terminology. Still, photography itself is enough to keep my spirits up. Unfortunately for my forum posting, I have my heart set on a new CPU and I can't afford to purchase a better camera.

Anyway...no photoshop/editing...these are all at least a year old, for the most part...a lot of outdoorsy shots tend to be crappy due to photography while moving roadside in a vehicle...

The main thing your photos could benefit from would to be numbered so we could give more effective feedback :P

Alot of these photos could be improved with more composition of the elements within them. Alot of them either the subject or, in the case of the landscape shots, the horizon are centred in the picture. Something you could try is when you're about to take a shot, imagine that what you see through the viewfinder / LCD screen is divided up by lines: 2 vertical and 2 horizontal (Like a tic tac toe grid). Now, try placing the main subject, or horizon, on one of these lines. 9 times out of 10 you'll see the picture improve because of it. Now, this isn't a set in stone rule that you should follow for every picture, but keep it in the back of your mind.

This is a shameless plug, but if you look at my topic: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=100187

Notice how the majority of the pictures are off centre, and how objects such as pipes and lamposts can be used to help in framing?

As your pictures, I like the first one. Something about it just appeals to me

For the landscape ones, I know this is difficult as you were in a car but try to avoid distracting elements like water drops, pylon wires etc. (Unless they're aiding the composition).

I like the ones inside the glass building, but watch out for overexposure, though I understand it's probably hard to avoid with your camera.

I'm a fan of the motorbike pic. Perhaps you could have explored the subject from a few different angles however.

I'm not a fan of the light trails, but that's because i've seen it done so many times.

All in all, you're coming along pretty well and with a little composition your photography should come along nicely. Don't worry too much about your camera. A good photo is a good photo regardless of whether it's taken on a high end DSLR or a camera phone. Great photos come from the photographer, not the camera.

Keep up the good work :)
