Hey! I'm kinda knew to photography, so I'd like so constructive crit please. I photograph dolls that I collect because they make the best models (they don't argue and they pose however I like because well duh they're dolls). I'm going to be taking photography classes in the future; I'm going to college to major in Art & Design this coming fall. I know I'm no where near the level of great photographers or even mediocre photographers for that matter, but it'd be nice to see where I'm at right now. Thanks!

I took around 40-50 pictures total, and these are the best four from the shooting. The only photoshopping done was to sharpen the image slightly.

I already posted this in the Crit section, but someone said I'd probably get better feedback and crit here since this is the photography section. Thanks!

wow, there is something about large doles that i find very unsettling!!! however you have manages to get some good photos of them (it) composure wise you have gone for off center angles and nice elevated shots. The photo content its self does nothing for me but i cant argue that there not technically a good shot, pat ur self on the back and now go find some real models!!

Very nice still life images. :) I particularly like the 3rd one because it has more contrast than the others. I think if you experimented with different lighting scenarios, you should get some more interesting photos with more depth.

I love them! I did a series of photos with a toy robot once in very human like settings and poses. Fun stuff.

purplerose is right on the money. Different lighting styles will add some more depth and provide you with different moods and vibes. Other than that, I like 'em. Really like the pose on the first one.

If it were me, I would try to either build scale sets or shoot in a way where you really challenge the viewer to comprehend exactly what scale the doll is. If you wanted to take that a step further, remove any signs of it being a mechanical doll via Photoshop (like fill the joint areas, gloss the eyes, etc.). That would look REAL trippy and/or creepy as hell.

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely should look into better lighting (I probably shouldn't have taken the pics right after it stopped raining anyway hah).

Again, the only photoshopping done in them was slight sharpening, except the last one I had to photoshop the eye to close all the way because it's a bit broken and won't shut quite right =/
