Yeah - that's what I'd like to see. Bluetooth or just plain old RF "remote".

I have an old Intuos 1, and the cord sometimes gets in the way. Well - would be easier/cooler without the cord.

And since it's doable, I was wondering why Wacom hasn't done this yet?

I'm thinking of maybe upgrading to Intuos2, among other things for the USB connection, but I think I'll sit on the fence a little in case they develop a cordless tablet with USB2 :inlove:

Well, in case of Bluetooth, USB2 connection would be kinda redundant/useless, but otherwise. Well, you know what I mean! A fast, wireless thingy!

Anyone heard any rumours about something like this in the works?

yah my friend spinefinger was saying he wanted one badly, he just bought a new mx700 wireless optical and a wireless keyboard so he's on a wireless buzz. Everything must be black and wireless, OR ELSE.

i dream of a wireless wacom all the time. actually i was thinking about it last night, if they made the conection wireless it would still need a powersource, mabye a rechargable battery, but then that might be a hassle. honestly the cord isnt much of a problrm once you zone out, but its always cool to cut one more cord from your life.

Yeah, I forgot it would need batteries. Well, it could have a USB "docking station" to recharge a rechargeable battery, like some wireless mice have.

You'd just slide the whole thing into a slot in a box next to the PC to recharge it.

I have a 12x12 though, so if I got the same size I guess the docking station would have to be pretty big and stable...

I'm allowed to dream, ain't I? :D

I just got off the phone with Wacom. I figured I'd call them...what the hell right?

"Unfortunately we are unable to share this information with you."

/me feels like an ant.

So if they have one in the works or not remains to be seen. Battery power would be a concern. Also (which I think is the biggest) is because of the amount of data that's transfered from the tablet to the computer (and vice versa) could be the reason for us not seeing one yet.

Since the pen and mouse are wireless, you would think they have at least considered going all nude. But who knows...we shall see.

Id rather haev a USB2 tablet. with wireless youll most likely need to replace batteries. That would be a pain, being in the middle of a painting in your artistic element just to get knocked otu of it by a need for new batteries.. plus youll have to have a sensor anyways, so it would jsut be a shorter cord going up onto your desk.. doesnt seem worth it especially if they jack up the price for wireless.

I'm just waiting for a vibrating tablet... well not vibrating, but just enough rumble to simulate drawing while on a train or on a bus... yeah. oh and 5.1 surround sound tracks of ambience like babies crying, or the occasional cough and cell phone chatter...

this is the last post i'll make tonight, just trying to act like i'm a forum regular or something. how am i doing?
