Hahaha... I couldn't agree more! You just can't have "too much Ferrari" in your life.

I was nearly mauled by a pack of wild mosquitoes trying to get this image, but I think it was worth it. :) It's a not-so-dead tree with moss growing on it.

I don't know if painting a mask to selectively desaturate parts of the image is forbidden as such, but I do think it goes against the spirit of "please don't edit the photo to make it one color." It would be more interesting to find or arrange a "real" situation with a single colored object in a naturally desaturated environment (concrete, old wood, grey sand, ash...).

Well new challenge on "18:00/6:00 pm (GMT +2) Thursday" By GMT that's also taking into account daylight savings and what-not, so at the moment it's BST+2.
This is essentially the time in Finland, the Ukraine, Romania and Egypt; the time deemed best due to having forumers from about that-a-ways. Furthermore it's pretty much the mirror line between Australia and the Americas, which was the final deciding factor to use it.
I can understand the confusion about time, this challenge has gone on longer than they conventionally do/did, but this appears to have become rather somewhat of a feature as of late. Mainly due to 'other stuff syndrome' being taken into account. Chances are it'll all get back in phase eventually and if not, well, no great danger because it's more about the photos than the challenge (sorta) so at least more people are taking photos and entering them for the challenges.
Also, Someone, what on Earth is that? It's a pretty damn awesome photo as far as the subject title goes, so I'd quite like to know what it's made of, curiosity you see.

60 second exposure lite by my blue external hard drive light and red optical of my mouse. I'm not really sure what color is the one that is counted here, blue fills the canvas, but is desaturated compared to the red. I guess I was going for something along the lines of what Fingers said "It would be more interesting to find or arrange a "real" situation with a single colored object in a naturally desaturated environment." I was thinking about editing the red out to a blue optical, but the picture just lost interest for me, so here it is, cheers.

Rhynome, I was at a piano camp last week (well not last week, but the week before I guess now) at a local college (about 30 minutes away from where I live, where my piano teacher teaches). Anyway the picture is of a piece of art at the college, at night (so the metal was lit up, but the background was dark since it was at night). Glad you like it :)

sorry if im late i really suck at time zones.
but um...
i went to make the thread with the poll..and theres 18 entries..i dont think i can have that many options in a poll? what should i do? lol
Rhynome
July 10th, 2007, 06:10 AM
I'll try and make the poll and see what happens. Don't worry about the whole late thing. Anyway, it should be opened later today; I'm not quite sure where you live in the US but that would be 1000-0700 hrs on a Tuesday (unless you're on the eastern most fringe in which case I think it's 1130?).
So the poll will be opened then, if it doesn't accept as much as 18 then we could just make two polls, with all the photos in both but only half the options in each, the title names in different colours (red and blue) when two threads called 'RED' and 'BLUE', so if you're looking in the RED thread but you like a BLUE photo, then you can switch over to the BLUE poll thread. Both would be stickied until the vote is over.
Though I don't think it's ever done that before.

Right, the poll is up, an hour late (in fact I started on it half an hour late... that was an evil poll, it took far too long). It's stickied, then in two days time it'll be torn down.
