View Full Version : Does this happen to anyone else?

Since I've begun usiing a tablet, I've noticed something odd.
I'm ambidextorius (sic ) , in that I open doors, use tools, throw a ball, play guitar... with my right hand.
I eat ( use a fork, spoon ) , and draw/write with my left hand.
This is what I've found... when I use a mouse, trakball, or airbrush I use it with my right hand. When I draw with a stylus, I use my left hand, but, I find it hard to control as part of my brain tells me it's a tool ( put it in your right hand ), but the other part senses it as a pencil or pen ( put it in your left hand ).
Does this happen to anyone else?

My bud was over and I was showing him the wonders of WACOM (seriously, nobody owns a wacom here) .. he's a righty guitarist, but a lefty artist like you. strange the stylus was out of control in his hand, considering that he is pretty good with a pencil... he couldn't decide which hand to use either.

It's weird. I wonder why that is. Something about how the brain is wired. I think too it has something to do with gross motor skills vs. finer movements.

I draw, eat and use the wacom with my left hand but play sports, use scissors and the mouse with my right hand. I guess I'm a freak too.:arcfreak:

Ever hear about the sculptor who couldn't sculpt when his brother replaced his right-handed hammer with a left-handed one?

It happens to hammers too?

When my left wrist started to hurt after several hours of playing Fallout 2, I got worried I was coming down with carpal tunnel syndrom. I wanted to keep playing and switched to my right hand on the mouse. Took only a little while to get used to it and nw I use my left hand for wacom and drawing, while I use my right hand for the mouse.

Aye. I'm left handed when Drawing. Painting, and writing. But right handed for just about everything else as well. Wacom has always felt natural with my left. Now, the mouse is strictly for my right hand. Using my mouse with my left hand is like trying to write with my right hand, just aint happ'nin.
Wow i've never thought of it before.. that's fucked up.. Maybe I am a freak!?
It does come in handy though, because i'm able to draw with the stylus while always holding the mouse.. so when i want to quickly snag some tool or do any quick operation the mouse is immediately at my disposal. You right handed 'norms' are missin out:rolleyes:
