add some more texture to it. like to the gun, shirt, fur, etc. the fur needs to be more furry.it looks really smooth now. :)

Nice, i dig it. However, i also think you could put some more texture on it. The beard almost looks like fur on his colar, maybe don't have the shoulders going up so high, or put a V in his shirt. The right ear is missing a bit of colour to it also. Nice work.

I dont think it would hurt to study some anatomy, so you'll avoid mistakes like making the arms just two connected blobs. The shading is inconsistent, you dont have a clear light source.

I'm having a lot of trouble with lighting. What are some good resources on how to do this, books, web, etc... A friend of mine bought the Peter Konig and found that to be really helpful with his sculpting, are there any DVDs on lighting? I can get anatomy books and i will. Thanks for the advice.

One very simple but effective exercise to learn lighting is to place out everyday object with simple shapes on your table, like an egg or a ball (sphere), a paper towel roll (cylinder) or a box (cube), make sure they are one color, preferably white, then add a strong lightsource like a lamp. Then observe how shadow is cast on/from the different shapes. Draw a lot of different shapes like this. This will help you when you learn to understand the shapes of the human body and how to shade them properly, like the arms are cylinders, so they are shaded like cylinders, the head is an egg shape etc etc.
