Due to the fact I've been working quite a few weeks at these two drawings below here (this was my recent exam for drawing class), I might say that it is finally finished after all and therefore I just couldn't help myself putting it in this part of the forum. It's not the quality all you people have in here, but I keep trying :p

Also a little word about the assignment; it's supposed to represent 2 sidekicks for the hero of the upcoming game Final Fantasy XIII and therefore it had to be made in that specific style.
The male character had to have a naked torso,had to walk on bare feet, needed a special designed weapon wich should be something between a normal gun and a standard melee weapon; he was supposed to be created only in pencil.
The female character had to have a sexy look and was supposed to be created in fullcolor.

Anyway, this will probably be the only two drawings in this topic (I guess) due to the fact that I love my regular sketchbook too much :p

C&C is highly appreciated and for those who wanna see some more of me, this is the place to be:

Enjoy :p

Even though it very well may be 'finally finished' the finally finished section is reserved for advanced and professional quality work. I finally see why now (duh Rhiney);

This place is all about getting better, and evne the site won't allow you to simply 'settle' and call one of your pieces done if you can still improve. So instead of letting it be in the finally finished, it's relegated to the critique center, so you can recieve intense c&c and so you can eventually become advanced or professional in your art.

Weee :teeth:

So, C&C;
Your overall proportions are looking pretty good, at least in how you've spaced things out vertically. Your designs are inventive and consistent (if they are truly yours) and your poses are strong.

The BIG thing holding you back; lack of consistency in quality of body parts IE; your hands and faces SUCK compared to your decent handling of the rest of the body. The girls's lower hand looks very wrong, with her fingers seeming to come out of her wrists. I haven't taken the time to look at your SB, but I'd say right now you should drop what you're doing and do face and hand studies (from reference or life) to bring them up to par.

Your shading for the most part looks alright, but it seems you're stuck in the "light part, dark part" mentality. Doing some tonal studies could really help you develop a more sophisticated sense of lighting (which in turn could help with your colouring.

Overall, you're getting there, keep on working and pushing towards perfection :)

First, thanks for the explanation 'bout the finally finished section - cleared a few questions up I still had :S

And second, I must say, you're the first one that is so very honest and clear 'bout my drawings and this one in particulary - the teachers only mentioned the face being a bit off and so, so was pretty happy 'bout it. The hands you mentioned is definitely an 'ow-yeah, now you mention it' moment, so thanks for that :p

Anyway, due to the fact I got a nice week ahead of being lazy and all (no more exams, yay) I'll definitely try posting some new stuff in the very near future :p (its been too long already) And yes sir, we're going for the hands :p

PS The designs are absolutely mine exept the creature behind the male, a part is borrowed of an existing creature in Final Fantasy, just so you know :p

Aloha all,

I know - I should be working on my hands and anatomy in general - trust me when I say it's under construction :p (despite the lac of results ... ) anyway, the reason for me to post here:

I was kinda wondering what I could be doing better at this one - I've been working on it all day and this is the result I'm gonna give tomorrow at the teach - so If all you out there got any ideas to improve this one it would be greatly appreciated since I'm trying to work a lot more with colours in Photoshop.

Thanks :)

PS - I've posted this one too in my sketchbook so you can see the resemblance between the non-coloured version and this one.

The girl....

Go get some glamour magazines and draw every pair of lips that appear in them.

Then draw every pair of eyes.

Then draw every head.

You need to get a book out on the anatomy of the head so you can really get into what's going on around the eyes.
